Property Tax and Us

Dear all,

The residents of Mumbai are concerned, apprehensive and agitated about the passing of the proposed Property Tax rules in their present form.

People are outraged, at the unjust taxing system that has been passed by the Standing Committee, without giving them an opportunity, to express their views. Certain pertinent points viz Charging on Built up area, against Carpet area, charging on floor rise, niche parking, luxury tax, and worst of all the 'never heard of '  tax being collected with retrospective effect!

In view of the above, the H West Ward Federation  and the ALMANAC group of M (East and West) Wards have come together to discuss this complex issue and present the peoples’ views about the same.

Jagdish Gianchandani/ Raj Kumar Sharma - will present the citizens' concerns

Adv. Ashish Shelar- our guide on this issue

Adv. Uday Warunjikar - will present some  legal aspects

Rahul Shewale - MCGM Standing Committee Chairman - will present the MCGM position

We are trying to get some of the concerned MCGM officials to attend and address the issue too.

There will be a short question answer session, after the above. Besides, the speakers have assured us, that they will address all queries, later, if proper email ids of the concerned citizens, are provided to them at the meeting. Please forward this message to other concerned citizens.
